…more in on seagulls love of crunchy snacks

Aberdeen’s very own Seagull shoplifterI’m sure that I’m probably the last person in the world to see this news story, but it chimed in so well with my previous post I just can’t resist; anyway, how fantastic is this footage? The nefarious bird looks to me to be a herring gull, so I’d be careful if I were the shopkeeper; it’s the kind of big aggressive gull I wouldn’t risk feeding. But I do love the way it stalks out of the shop very properly, with a real sense of entitlement.

Wow, I can watch this over and over again. We have gulls here everywhere, and they are not afraid. BTW thanks for visiting my blog. Appreciated. Anna :)

You are welcome Anna, your blog is beautiful! I know what you mean about watching over and over, I find myself doing the same :)

I really enjoyed this. I live also near the beach and seagulls can be very agressive, but I still love them. They are so beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

You are welcome Carla, thank you for visiting! I love to watch seagulls flying and although they can be frightening they are quite funny as well, they are never dull birds. Where I live in London there is a growing population of gulls too, but I’ve never seen one shoplifting before.

Cheeky bird! I have a magpie who does that in my kitchen :)

  6. Bird says:

You are kidding Anonybird! I’d love to see that! The magpies in our neighbourhood are very entertaining, despite their taste for songbird eggs. These days they are having a big war with the local crow gang. The garden is VERY noisy in the mornings, and the trees shake!

  7. AnonyBird says:

Not kidding. Hhehheeee. It’s not something I encourage! In fact fixing a screen door very soon, we’ll see how long that takes before he works out how to open it! An alarm clock that’s at your house, then goes around the bend to mine with the sun :)

Hah, magpies are the same the world over then :) And they are frighteningly clever!
