A New feature… Blog Love Sunday!

I’ve been writing away here in my own little bubble, but don’t think that I don’t notice what you are all up to. There are bloggers out there who regularly inspire me, wake me up with a jolt or remind me of just what it was I set out to do myself, but maybe lost a little of along the way. It’s time I gave back to those people! So with no further ado I present my first Blog Love Sunday, in which I choose to honour (in no particular order) my favourite blog authors.

Big drum roll please for…

Robin Easton and her blog Naked in Eden

It’s not difficult to heap praise on this multi-talented woman, and her blog only tells a fraction of the tale. To get some idea of who Robin really is you need to look at her entire website to see how much she has acheived, but what you’ll get a feel for here is not just about acheivment; it’s about life. Living fully is what Robin does best, and best of all she’s here to tell us all about it. A person as accomplished as Robin could easily be intimidating but as you’ll know if you’ve been lucky enough to have Robin stop by your blog, she is warm, funny and incredibly generous. I’m not going to say any more, because the best way to find out who you are dealing with here is to go and visit her and say hello.

    Dear Beautiful Bird,

I recently had to write a short piece about myself for another project and there was a deadline and I had 5 days to do. It only had to be 50 – 75 words (I know!)but I could NOT for the life of me do it. I went absolutely blank.

The “About Robin” section on my site was written with the help of a friend. I can sit down and write from my heart to/for/about another person, but when it comes to ME, I draw a complete blank! LOL LOL :) :)

In my head all I hear is: “I am just ME, that’s all.” LOL :)

So when I came here it was fascinating and deeply touching to see myself through your eyes, someone whom I respect and relate to very much. I am floored and my first thought was, “Is she talking about ME…no, wait, this must be some other Robin. LOL LOL I kid you not.

I am SOOOOOOOOO honored and moved by what you wrote here. I should have had you write the 50 – 75 word piece I needed for my project.

Also, life is funny or at least I am. I was reading this and when I got to the part about creativity I thought, “What is she mean by that? How am I creative?”

LOL Oh dear, oh dear! :) :) :)

Then I thought, “Oh ya, that’s right I play the piano and write and was a glass fuser and love to do craft projects and all kinds of creative things. I forgot that was ME.” LOL LOL (Are you laughing yet?…I am.)

You are SUCH a sweetie. As to “intimidating”….I had to laugh as I’ve come to your site and see the AMAZING creativity in everything you touch from your website and beautiful writing, to your photography and creations of art that you make. You really have a unique gift of seeing beauty….no matter where you are. It is in every post you write.

    Thank you from my heart.
    You are a delightful gem!
    Hugs,
    Robin

oops. Obviously, I commented on the wrong post. Err. . .

Off to check out Robin’s blog, now! :)

  5. Bird says:

@Kit:- don’t worry, I moved your comment up to the appropriate post :D

  6. Bird says:

@Robin:- I did think when I was writing that it would be strange for you seeing yourself described by another person and I had fun trying to describe what comes across to me without too much detail… but creative YES, yes you are! How can you not know that about yourself :D (obviously you do but it gets pushed into the background with the daily grind, living inside your own head is never as glamorous as it might seem from the outside) I know what you mean about writing about yourself – how is it possible? I’m never sure how to explain myself, what I do, who I am, even what this blog is about or why I write at all. Maybe we should swap personal blurbs – I’ll write yours if you write mine :D

Anyhow as for being honoured, this was long overdue, you are always so generous to me and anyone else you visit online – I’ve seen!
