Very cool shots! Happy Skywatch:)
Thank you Sharon, and a Happy Skywatch to you too!!!
These are excellent.
Thanks babooshka! I’ve just checked out your blog and I’m really chuffed you like these, I love your cloud picture and the rest too.
I’ve always thought crows must be messengers of the gods. I think these photos support that.
I think Odin had two Ravens called Thought and Memory (can’t remember or spell the proper old names… how ironic!
and crows also have a rich mythology of their own. And they should have too; they are clever, funny birds! She looks as if she’s sending her messengers out to see what’s going on in the world – or maybe they are already reporting back. Wonder what they have to say.
*Edit*:- Odin’s ravens were called Huginn and Muninn
Hey Bird!
You know, I just love shots like this—a building against the beautiful sky at an interesting angle. And a bit of winged nature. It almost looks as if the angel is blessing them…and you know what those birds are probably doing to her…sorry! Couldn’t resist!
It’s probably a good job we can’t see the back of her head… no doubt it is less than regal! I love the way her out-thrown arms take on a whole new meaning when the birds are near her, you could interpret it in so many ways, it’s so evocative – you can invent your own scenario. I think in the top she looks like she is calling them, gathering them in.
Interesting capture of the crows near her outstretched arms. I invite you to come see my foggy contribution. – Margy
Thanks margy – just checked out your lovely foggy scenes. What a beautiful part of the world you are in!
What glorious shots. Sweeping and beautiful.
Thank you Lydia!
I really like this- it’s fun to imagine a story, a fairy tale to go along with the images.
Maybe I should have a short story contest – that would be fun!
