New Vintage and Steampunk

At last I got my tool box out this week and actually made some new things! It felt good to have my pliers in my hands again. Here’s a couple of new jewellery pieces… I just got them uploaded to the shop.
The above necklace is called “Open the Garden Gate” and is made of vintage and salvaged materials. It’s a one off!
My favorite though is this bracelet, which I called Temporal Anomoly. Again, it’s made mainly with salvaged and vintage parts, including a lovely champagne watch dial and little bits of mechanical gubbins from inside the watch.
I’m so tempted to keep it for myself… but I wont. If I kept all the things I make for the shop and then don’t want to part with, our poor little flat would be even more of a magpies nest than it is right now.

Oh my gosh, I love this bracelet, too! And I’m not a real jewelry wearer, although, I’d gladly wear this one… I love how you’ve integrated the “gubbins” as you say.
You know, one day (when I come up with some money!) I’m going to purchase one of your beautiful items and one of Lana’s and Chrissy’s beautiful paintings… I hope our blogs are all still around then!
Beautiful work, Bird.
Aw Holly, you are the BEST. You know what’s strange, I don’t really wear jewellery either, I think I started making it because there wasn’t really anything I liked out there. I make stuff I’d like to wear and then end up getting all attached to it – absolutely fatal.
And are we a collection of starving artists or what?
I like to think that our blogs will be around for a good long while yet, so here’s to better times and money in all our pockets. Yaaay!
Wow! You made these? You’re very talented!!
And I know what Holly means about no money to buy pretty things
Thanks Svasti, these things are like my little pets so all praise is welcome, with or without the cash ;D
This is gorgeous. I love steampunk although I wouldn’t have a hope of making something myself. That bracelet is beautifully put together.
Somewhere I have an collection of vintage bits and pieces, I must dig them out. I must also have a good look through your shop…
Aaaw bless Holly, what a lovely thought. Mind I have to say I have a little board in my craft room and since I started blogging, little things have exchanged here and there and now it is covered in altered CD’s, little ATC’s and stamps and envelopes from all over the world, it is brilliant and I smile whenever I look at it!
Hey Chrissy, thank you! I love the whole idea of Steampunk, there is some amazing Steampunk creativity to be found out there – my work is quite plain in comparison to some things I’ve seen. I guess you’ve doing little swaps with people in the crafting community? I haven’t really ventured there much yet, I need to write a bit more about my work I think.
…and Holly is just such a fab person, trust her to say something as lovely as that (are you reading Holly? Are you blushing yet?
)
Oh dear! Oh dear! You do make great stuff!
I love the necklace! Wow!
The bracelets too.
Come to think of it, I love them all! Crafty hands (and eyes) you have! Bless you.
Thanks Brainteaser, you are very kind!
I would so love to buy ‘Temporal Anomoly’ fabulous. Has it sold? How much?
Hello Angie and welcome! Temporal Anomaly has not sold, it’s available in the shop here for £24.99. I also accept US dollars and Euros, there is a currency picker in the bottom left sidebar of the shop.
I will just have to lust after it for now (mores the pity). Will defiantly keep an eye on your blog(s) as I think they are the best I’ve seen for quite a while.
Thank you Angie, that is most kind of you!
