Scilly Sky

Where is this tropical seascape with it’s turquoise water and brilliant sky? You may be surprised to learn that it is a mere 30 miles or so off the UK coast, and I took this photo while leaning over the rails of the Scillonian III, the ferry boat which plies it’s trade between Penzance and one of my favourite places in the whole world – the Isles of Scilly. I’ll be there early in September, so you can expect some pictures of my adventures there at some point – but as to the skies we’ll see… I’ll have to trust to the weather!

Louise, it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world. There isn’t another place like it anywhere :)

What a beautiful photo, the colours are breathtaking! I’ve just been catching up with some of your previous posts, you have some really lovely photos and very interesting posts. I find it difficult sometimes to keep up with all the blogs I enjoy but will try to visit again soon :)

ShySongbird, you are incredibly kind – I am very glad that you came back here to see what I’ve been up to! I also often find it very hard to keep up with other peoples blogs – and have been wanting to come catch up with yours for a while now too. Don’t ever worry about dropping in occasionally, I know just how it is myself! I’m glad you have enjoyed reading, it’s lovely to have generous readers like yourself.

It really does, doesn’t it? You’d never guess that it’s in the UK and the water is actually pretty cold! But the sun is warm and the climate of the islands very kindly :)

Oh my gosh, those turquoise waters are gorgeous! You’ve captured all of my favorite shades of blue here. Nice feathery cloud pattern, too. And how shameful that I’ve shown up here well over a month later to comment…can’t get out of my own way, I tell ya!
